FOM Showroom

The project "Virtual Showroom" is a virtual reality experience created for Fom Industrie — a top player in cutting and machining extruded aluminum.

We developed the Virtual Showroom as a sale tool to show to potential clients large-sized products that are difficult to bring to trade shows or move to other headquarters.

We recreated the 3D environment of a showroom and positioned inside it accurate copies of the production machinery. Observing the features of the visual brand of the company was of high importance. We also made the machinery functional and operational, but with a few simplifications needed for intuitive use in virtual reality so that anybody could easily pick up and play the experience.

The user wearing the HTC Vive virtual reality headset can freely walk and teleport around the showroom and interact at will with any of the machines therein.

Bright overlays and outlines highlight the interactable parts of the machines and guide the user step by step through some phases of manufacturing a window frame in extruded aluminum.
